What do you want from us? Sell the god damned car or move. Hell, you’re getting off easy. I had to deal with Bird Shit from freaking Raptors.
I wish the asshole who planted a magnolia tree thought of that. Damn thing drops its petals on the sidewalk and the street and when they get crushed by cars and people, the petals get slimy. Actually, fuck the assholes who live there now for not keeping the petals cleaned up when they drop. It’s a beautiful tree, but the slimy petals suck.
I was sure this pitting was going to be about the ungodly stench of the Jacarandas, which I refer to as “dog pee trees”. They are undeniably gorgeous and I wouldn’t live in my dream house for free if there was a Jacaranda near by.
I didn’t notice anyone else mention the stink so maybe there’s a different strain in the southeast (I’m in Florida)? All I know is they make the neighborhood smell like an unwashed kennel. Bleccccch.
We had a jacaranda tree in our yard in California, and I don’t remember any smell at all.
I’d rather have those than the smelly jizz trees that are blooming near me.
I thought of the Dickies’ theme from “Killer Klowns From Outer Space”:
There’s cotton candy in their hands
Says a polka-dotted man with a stalk of jacaranda
They’re all diabolical bozos
Zuzu curses you.
Jacarandas are another non-native species brought to California to screw up our environment. In Orange County, given our drought, a change would be nice:
You are thinking of some other tree.
This is a Jacaranda seed pod - it’s like a potato chip.
(I have three of these trees in my yard, so I know from what I speak)
I’m not seeing any love for Crape Myrtle trees in this thread! They’re as pretty in late summer as any other trees mentioned here!
As for gross messy trees, go to Honolulu and notice the mango trees! They are all over the place. They drop their mangoes all over the street and sidewalks. Mangoes are rather large fruit. So the cars squish them in the streets and pedestrians trample them on the sidewalks, and you have your streets and sidewalks coated in squished rotting stinking mango slime everywhere.
