I’m skeptical but I’ll give it a try. I’m like 90% confident it won’t be strong enough for my tastes. Also I’m more of a Crown Royal fan myself. ---

I’m not a big JD fan. I prefer Beam & cola which is already sold in cans here. But I might try the Jack & Diet Coke version when it comes out. Won’t have caffeine in it, though. Nothing like being drunk and wide awake! ---

I expect a out cry over Jack and Coke’s attraction to under age teens. It happened with cigarettes and flavored snuff about 20 years ago. Flavored snuff was sweetened to make it more popular. They’ll need to be very careful in marketing Jack & Coke. No cool beach scenes with surfers or similar commercials. ---

Hm? I know there are lots of craft beers that are made with coffee; I don’t know if they actually contain a non-negligible amount of caffeine, though. ---

But it’s loaded with ethanol. Do some beer math. If you pound down a 24 ounce can of Four Loko at 14% ABV you just ingested the alcohol content of almost six regular beers into your system in a very short period of time. When caffeine was added to the equation it intensified the buzz. One helluva a ride for only two bucks! ---

I like rum and Coke. I keep a small bottle of Bacardi for a drink every month or two. It used to be weekly when I was younger. I’ve had Jack and Coke in college. Many times. 😊 Never developed a taste for it. ---

Like 20 years ago, the brother of a friend of mine worked for Jim Beam or whatever its parent company is (fake edit: Beam Suntory). I wound up getting this little can of cocktail, about 60-70% the size of a 12 oz beer. I think it’s still at my parent’s house but I’m pretty sure it is a Jim Beam mint julep for the Japanese market. It has the regular Jim Beam logos and stuff but the other lettering is Japanese. I’m sure it was and is awful. It was definitely for sale in cans in Australia, when I first visited in 1995; although as your link indicates, it was always “Jack Daniel’s and Cola.” It wasn’t “Jack Daniel’s and Coke.” I like a nice glass of whisky, but I’d never add anything to it except an ice cube, or perhaps a little water. Any cola would be right out. But to each their own, I guess, and if JD has determined that there is a market in Mexico and the USA for such a product, well, let’s see if they’re right. ---
