IMHO, jag-wahr for American English, jag-u-are for British English. “Jag-wire” is as stupid and annoying as “reel-a-tor” and “jool-er-ee.” ---

According to the doofus from CBS who called last week’s Browns/Jaguars game, it’s “jag-wire” :eek: According to me, it’s “jag-war”. ---

Many centuries ago I worked for a company that did some marketing for Jaguar. The official word from the source was that Jag-u-ar and Jag-war were exceptable, but Jag-Wire would get you executed. As for February, that’s an in-ter-esting question. ---

As the SDMB’s leading authority on this user name, I will accept both dʒæɡwɑr or dʒæɡjuː.ər, but not the title pronunciation, unless it refers to the bike equip brand mentioned above. 😃 (Actually I have no idea how to read those IPA things so call me anything you like and insist it’s correct :smack: ) arrrrrrghhhhhh! is also acceptable but you might not have time to get it out! ---
