I know HP and LOTR aren’t Sci-Fi, and to be honest I hate it when people call fantasy stuff “sci-fi”, but I couldn’t think of anything else to put for those two. Also, I’m not trying to insult anyone by calling HP a “childrens’” series. I’ve read them and I love them; I just thought it might be popular enough that some other people would answer the same.

I think Superman does indeed count as sci-fi. After all, he came from another planet, and there are definite sci-fi-ish elements in the Superman legend.
#4 was tough, as it was difficult thinking of things that counted as children’s, sci-fi, and a series (Heinlein’s juveniles being one of the best examples of children’s sci-fi, but they don’t really form a series). I was tempted to put _A Wrinkle in Time_ (and now I wish I had), _Lucky Starr_, or _Artemis Fowl_, but at the last minute went with a series I remembered from my own childhood (_Danny Dunn_).
