James Bond movie club: Dr. No and From Russia

Oh, I should point out that the books don’t have a lot of the gagetry we associate with James Bond. Also, some things happen out of order. (*** POSSIBLE SPOILER ***) For example, Felix gets eaten early in the series and then pops up again with a hook later.

The stories also seem to have less formidable Uebervillains. And they sometimes differ greatly from the films. Moonraker, I’ve picked up from references in the books, has nothing to do with the Space Shuttle (which didn’t even exist at the time). The Spy who Loved Me was written as a diary, penned by the heroine. Totally different from the film.
