You can consider yourself to BE chatting with someone IN a thread, if you want, but that doesn’t make the thread “a chat”. Just cause you can buy some prepared foods and eat in a grocery store doesn’t make it a restaurant. There are such things as specific definitions of words. ---

You keep showing a rampant disregard for the culture of the group you chose to join. There is a happy medium between doing what only you want and being like everyone else. It’s ok to have individual personality but its also ok to follow the cultural norms of a social group. When the medium of communication is words, agreeing on a set definition is usually the best way to communicate. Not caring about how you come off is arrogant. Saying “I don’t have to, so there” is childish. When the bulk of your interactions annoys people, maybe it’s not everyone else’s fault. ---
