# Jane Curtin is fucking awesome

I read a book about the early days of SNL and was surprised (but not that surprised once I thought about it) to learn that Jane didn’t really fit in with the rest of the crowd. Most of them were serious drug/alcohol abusers with trainwreck social lives, but Jane was happily married to a well-off guy.

While most of the cast was off partying, she was off to the symphony with ther husband or whatever. It was a cause of a fair amount of friction.

I loved her reactions to Belushi’s out-of-control commentator on “Weekend Update”… sitting there frozen with dread, making tentative attempts to shush him and cringing…

John Lithgow is alos fucking awesome, but he makes it look so easy. The two of them together are priceless.
