The January 6th Committee hearings have discussed the fake electors scheme at length, particularly around John Eastman. But it’s even worse. They’re still entitled to a trial by a jury of their peers (however fruitless) and a presumption of innocence. You don’t want to abandon those very foundational basics of our rule of law, do you? Awaiting justice always takes more time than we wish it did. But yeah, those are pretty damning statements. ---

I don’t think the idea was to fool anyone. All they thought they needed was for Pence to say, "Well it looks lke ice cream to me (wink) (wink). I just can’t tell them apart, I guess we’ll just have to say that no one won, and leave it up to the rural states to decide who gets to be president. ---

WaPo has an excellent reputation for accuracy in their reporting. Moreover, they reported that DOJ has had phone records from Mark Meadows and others who comprise the top administration officials since April. I don’t have a WaPo subscription, but as soon as I can link a cite for the above assertion, I will. I have never had any doubt that Garland is serious about holding Trump accountable. ---

What I see from posters in my local tv station’s FB page is that Donald offered to have NG troops defend the Capitol but Nancy Pelosi refused. Somehow the leader of one party in one chamber gets to make security decisions for the building. ---
