The first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was this joke:

A lawyer opened the door of his BMW, when suddenly a car came along and hit the door, ripping it off completely. When the police arrived at the scene, the lawyer was complaining bitterly about the damage to his precious BMW. “Officer, look what they’ve done to my Beeeemer!!!”, he whined. “You lawyers are so materialistic, you make me sick!!!” retorted the officer, “You’re so worried about your stupid BMW, that you didn’t even notice that your left arm was ripped off!!!” “Oh my gaaad…”, replied the lawyer, finally noticing the bloody left shoulder where his arm once was, “Where’s my Rolex?”

I looked up the article from the original Japanese source and it says that the pain was too great, which is why he didn’t notice it was gone.

The source is a reputable newspaper.

[QUOTE=brewha]
His right leg was missing. That would only be used for the rear brake on most bikes. Makes sense he noticed it was missing when he went to stop - that is if it makes sense that he didn’t notice that his leg was off.

Hmm, my post seems to have been eaten.

Dad’s old 60s Royal Enfield and Norton have the gear change and kick start on the right, but given their torquey characteristics he probably wouldn’t have noticed for a while either 😛

Well, he may have lost a leg, but with a little tinkering his motorcycle could have the most radical kickstand ever.
