Bourne is a ruthless, highly-trained assassin. McClain is a regular cop (if a tad unlucky). Jason, no contest. ---

As actiony as the Die Hard movies are, they come down to McClane (sometimes) out-thinking the villain mastermind and (mostly) exploiting holes in plans. He’s the loose cannon/wild card they can’t anticipate (dear god does that sound 80s or what?). The action is almost entirely him fighting through mooks. Bourne may or may not have exploitable holes in his plans, but he’s not a mook. I’d say they’re probably equal mentally, but in a gun or fistfight Bourne would win very quickly. ---

Concur. Bourne in ~5 minutes, and that only if they are separated by 3 doors, any two of which are locked. ---

Of course they are more likely to go buddy-buddy-yeah at first McClane, being a cop and thus part of the Establishment, sees Bourne as a threat, but eventually Bourne convinces McClane about the Evil Conspiracy in their midst, and they team up. But yes not before a little tete-a-tete in the early going. ---

If Bourne is intent on taking McClane out, it would be Bourne no contest. McClane is more of a brawler. In terms of fighting ability, Bourne is just in a higher class. ---

McClane would be good at disrupting a plan and taking a beating, but Bourne would administer the beating decisively.
