I made this post in the college football thread, but it probably deserves its own thread. ESPN College Gameday was at Happy Valley before the Penn State/Ohio State game. Jason Kelce was part of the Gameday crew. As he was walking through the crowd, somebody yelled “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a faggot for dating Taylor Swift?” Kelce took a few more steps, then turned around, grabbed somebody’s cell phone, and smashed it to the ground. Assumedly it was the phone of the guy who yelled the slur. I dunno how I feel about this. On one hand fuck that kid for real. What a shitty thing to say! On the other hand, destroying property is not cool. And feel like calling a straight person that word is not that offensive? Feels more silly to me than offensive. If Travis were gay it would be much worse. ---

Fighting’ words! That’s how we do it in Philly. I wish he hadn’t used the slur himself, but in context it was more a mockery of the asshole’s usage. Anyway, you don’t want a 300-lb man who can bench press 500 pounds to smash your phone? Keep your insults about his brother to yourself. Classic FAFO. Mind you, I’m not condoning it (tee hee!). It was horrible, and I’m deeply ashamed of Kelce! Yeah! Anyway, the idiot should be thankful it was his phone that was disintegrated. And I’ll reiterate: In Philly, most (all?) people would consider the dope got off easy. ---

I liked it better when all the nouns retained their amateur status (and/or when adjectives were much less possessive). But that’s me. ---
