# Java Update OK?

My computer keeps reminding me that a Java update is available. Having heard these updates are risky from a virus perspective, I always “x” out of the notice. Am I worried about nothing?

If you have some issues about automatic updates, go to [java.com](http://java.com) and install the latest java from there.

Java updates are okay.

In fact, you should do the Java updates because older versions of Java had security holes that newer versions of Java patched.
