In fact, I think I’ve seen KOB cited as THE most popular jazz recording in everybody’s collection where there’s at least one jazz record. I bet Brubeck’s _Time Out_ is a tight second, if not #1, in similar situations. The fun thing would be: what’s #3? I’ll try to Google “SDMB Kind of Blue” to see what pops up.
