Now the sins and failing of this reprehensible, toadying reptile elected to high office on 45/47’s coat tails have been discussed in detail and length in many other threads. That he resides within a mere Big Mac choking incident of the Oval Office is an inditement. And frankly, amongst the many crimes against humanity the said toad has committed, this is rather petty … but it’s personal. PT is currently in India. We are in India because we are cricket fans and its a cricket tour. We are playing in northern India, currently Jaipur, at the end of the dry season because frankly we are idiots. But we are here. And enjoying the scenes and senses of the subcontinent immensely. And for the 60 odd in the tour party the expected highlight of the tour will be a trip to Agra and a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. To take place on the 23rd. Then this afternoon news comes through that his reprehensive oiliness is visiting India, and will have a tour of the world heritage marvel … on the 23rd. So for his security sake the site is closed to all others of the great unwashed until midday. Fuck 'im in large lumps and with coarse grains of salt. So our tour operator pulls out all stops and reschedules us for a sunset tour. Not quite as good but still pretty good. Then the self-indulgent, indolent, bottom feeding, scum sucking arsehole titled VP decides to shift his tour to the afternoon. The security lockdown is from midday. So the freshly minted Plan B is cancelled and there is a reasonable chance we won’t be able to get back our morning slot and will miss a lifetimes chance to visit the spectacle. You unctuous dithering prat. ---

(If you are in the area Fatehpur Sikri Fort is an interesting side trip, just about 20 or 30 km from the Taj itself) ---

I’d like to add the use of the word “unctuous” in this case is correct. People using "unctuous’ (in Cafe Society, ha) to describe food, e.g. “gloriously unctuous foie gras” are… incorrect. ---

It is truely astounding. Glad you got to see it. When I was there, it was Eid. Some poor local Imam did a full night on the muzzein. Poor guy started getting hoarse around 02:00 but kept going. I did not sleep well that night, but at least was awake pre-dawn, and beat most tourists by an hour or so. I hope JD Vance and entourage hated it, though aside from their religious & cultural insensitivity and the normal hot, humid weather, it is hard not to like the Taj Mahal. ---
