# Jeff Rense - is this guy serious?

Look at this. Just look at it. Is this some kind of gigantic joke or is this guy actually serious? I absolutely love the picture, by the way - if it weren’t for the Z inside the star of David I would never have been able to figure out that it stood for “Zionists” (the ones who supposedly destroyed the twin towers, along with the CIA.)
But the guy’s appearance is just SO ridiculous - I don’t understand how he expects to be taken seriously with that absurd hair and moustache. And all the UFO-related stuff on the site too - it just seems like the whole thing is supposed to be sarcastic.
Is this guy for real? I suspect, unfortunately, that he is, given that there’s no shortage of people online who will believe anything. Does anyone here listen to his radio program? Is the guy mentally ill?

Point taken, but I think Rense is in a whole other league of absurd hair from Einstein. The latter’s hair was merely unruly, while Rense’s seems to be a carefully shaped and feathered poodle-like mullet.

If you’re entertained by Conspiracy Theories, Crackpot Science and totally off-the-wall world views, Rense is great stuff. I visit it on a semi-regular basis just to see what kind of wierd shit people are coming up with lately. And hey, occasionally there is a snippet of real news that you don’t see from your local sources, stories from foreign media, and the like.
But good god man, don’t take it seriously. :rolleyes:
For my own part, I used to be greatly amused by a lot of the crackpot science/conspiracy theory mixes, like the 7 mile tall crystal spires on Mars and shit like that. But over the years, I got so tired of the twisted logic and incredible stupidity that now I just want to splatter their idiots brains with a heavy iron bar. Crap like “We have no proof that (insert reasonable hypothesis here) is true, therefore (insert bizarro theory involving aliens or metaphysical beings here) MUST BE TRUE!!!” So now I read less and less of that stuff and just stick to the mundane crackpottery.

Yeah, the 'stache got to me too. There I was, totally ready to take him seriously . . . agreeing with everything on the site . . . then I noticed that absurd moustache. That’s a deal breaker every time. :rolleyes:
And I don’t think that’s his hair; it looks like some critter up and died on his head.

On top of making phone calls, mine also sends/receives email, keeps track of my calendar, browses the web, gives directions from one place to another, takes photos and video, plays MP3s, runs various instant messenger applications and logs into Facebook… but it cook a nutritious dinner too?

I haven’t checked out Rense for a few years, but back in the day that I was gleefully dabbling in the Art Bell/Richard Hoagland/Whoever Else realm of conspiracists, Rense was a regular visit.
In short: yeah, I think he’s serious. Is he _right_? Erm…I’ve got no opinion on that. His position seems to be that the mainstream media is hiding the TRUTH!!! So he has to put it out there.
He’s good for a laugh, and (if you’re not careful) can make you think outside the box for a bit. Otherwise, just entertainment.
As far as his pic goes: not really a valid criticism of his content. He may look silly to you, but that doesn’t make him wrong by definition (someone already mentioned Einstein).
