I just saw the former Doobie Bros guitarist on the tube, some "news"magazine programme, declaring his _Republican_ candidacy for some California political office, and making asides about his involvement with national security.

Did I hallucinate this ? Somebody gimme the Straight Dope on **that** one, please.
