I agree. I can think of at least one good Jewish Jeopardy host (Buzzy Cohen) and one good female quiz show host (Meredith Vieira.) Mayim is just a bad host. ---

Ya know, it _is_ possible that those of us who prefer Ken over Mayim as Jeopardy! host simply think he does a better job at it than she. mmm ---

I consider her a stunt host because, Jeopardy! made her a host for their own reasons, and ok, but it wasn’t because she was a great host. ---

Brutal final jeopardy today. They wanted to know the Shakespearean lovers whose names both mean blessing in Latin. The answer was off by one letter, but not really even this. Ben Chan lost his streak writing ”Beatrice and Benedict” instead of “Beatrice and Benedick”. Harsh call. Harsher still since the former are the names used in many operas based on _Much Ado About Nothing_, such as Berlioz. And the former is used in some translations of the play into other languages. I think they should have considered his response more kindly, but I guess they have a system. ---

I had to replay it a few times and still couldn’t tell the difference. I thought spelling didn’t count in FJ. He got a raw deal. ---

I guess the rationale is that Benedick vs Benedict is 2 different names, not a misspelling. Really harsh. Especially since he obviously knew the answer (and was the only one who did) ---

It sucks to be the only one who actually knew it and lose because of a misspelling but that’s the way it goes. ---

I wouldn’t normally pronounce dict and dick any differently unless I was very focused on pronunciation. I don’t emphasize the T or K sound. It’s unfortunate a 9 time champ is kicked off for such a error. His knowledge is undisputed. Players that skilled don’t come along that often.
