I have often seen contestants say names where it’s clear they have only read them in print and have no idea on pronunciation, and as long as what they say fits the letters of the name, they’ve been awarded the right answer. Recently when someone answered Camus, they pronounced it to rhyme with \*shamus \*and they gave it to him. ---

And as you see, I haven’t gotten over it. 😛 And I’m convinced they use “Camus” as an answer only so Trebek can have his fun of saying it. It’s probably in his contract, that he gets to say “Albert Camus” twice a season. ---

Who the FUCK says reesees piecees? Dear lord I’ve never heard this in my life and I hope I never do. That would drive me right up the fucking wall. In fact, just reading it and imagining it in my head has completely ruined my day. ---

I’m from Boston. While I have heard people say “reesez peesez”, I have never heard anyone say “reesez cups”. In this area they are “reesees cups” or, more often, “reesee cups”. I had never noticed the incongruity until reading this thread. When I get home I’m going to teach my children the proper way to say “Reese’s”. ---
