But then that’s part of the fun of _Jeopardy Masters_: for most of the show you sit there in awe of the players’ level of knowledge and speed, but then they all fail to get something that _ **you** _ figure out easily. ---

The suspenseful tone of the quote and the year immediately made me think of Poe, and I did come up with _The Pit and the Pendulum_, but not in time to have written it for a FJ question. I immediately knew Princip, and Gavrilo came to me a second later. I do get Charles Guiteau and Leon Czolgosz mixed up a lot though. ---

My wife reads the Jeopardy FB page, and complained they were all upset at four-time champ Amar Kakirde. What, was he not white enough? Gawd I hate people. Reason number 1 why I’ll never be on Jeopardy! isn’t because I don’t think I’m smart enough, but because of that. ---

So in this strike-shortened season, are there enough five-time winners to fill out the Tournament of Champions? I think the season ends in about two months. ---
