They were two of a set of 19 children born at the same time, all identical. Each day of their appearance on _Jeopardy?_, they would send two of them to the studio, one to pretending to be the one on the stage and one pretending to be the one in the audience. In a few years, another one will qualify to be a contestant and will announce that they are actually one of a set of triplets. ---

In something Jeopardy!-adjacent, I see Wheel has found the old ceramic dalmatian and put it front and center of their holiday set decoration. I guess no one ever claimed it. Vanna ever read a children’s book about it, how it only comes to life on Christmas. ---

That was excellent. The $99 ceramic Dalmatian that everyone had to buy is definitely a humorous child memory. I was nowhere near getting it, and had no awareness whatsoever of the Everett book. At first I thought it might have something to do with “Wicked,” but I figured that had never even sniffed a Pulitzer, and wasn’t sure about the 1876 part. (I checked afterward - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was published in 1900.) So as time ran out, I blurted out “Sherlock Holmes.” Closer, as he debuted in 1887, but still a very wrong wild-ass guess. ---

I usually get bored with all of these championships games (what the heck _are_ regionals, anyway?). But they’ve been worth watching to see the winner’s reactions at the end. Each and every one has been quite emotional, which is really touching. ---

Is this really fair? Until recently, nearly everyone treated Huck as purely white. It was only recently that some people have claimed that we were supposed to consider him as biracial.
