Might as well power the entire goddamn hospital to run one essential ventilator. Too bad I like this show otherwise Iā€™d be forced to quit watching it. ---

Anyone translate it yet? Is Hawkins a former Soviet sleeper, or is it just a red hering? But he was sitting in the middle of his backyardā€¦I was half-expecting him to be sipping on a glass of iced tea. Surely a man of his (assumed) training and expertise would make _some_ attempt at making the dish less obtrusive, like putting it in a corner or amoung some bushes or something. ---

Everything involving the government/military, including the phone calls, broadcast, and missile launch, was pre-programed incase of attack. It was _supposed_ to happen imediately after the attack, but was delayed until power was restored. I started watching because it seemed promising. I still watch because, inspite of the plot holes, itā€™s still entertaining. ---

Iā€™ve conducted numerous satellite conversations while waving an antenna with one hand and sippinā€™ tea with the other. My neighbors havenā€™t called the NSA on me yet. ---

There were also the abbreviations ā€œch kā€ which almost certainly stands for Chrezvichainaya Komissiya, which is an organization concerned with counter-revolutionary activities & sabotage. Chrezvichainaya means ā€œextremeā€ or ā€œextraordinaryā€ and itā€™s used in the context of ā€œstate of emergency.ā€ Komissiya simply means ā€œcommission.ā€ ---

Š²ŠµŃŃ‚Š¾Ń‡ŠŗŠ° being translated as ā€œnewsā€ is interesting. You punch that into google and you get [news.google.com](http://news.google.com) plus various other English sites related to news. But you donā€™t get Russian language news sites. For that you have to punch in ā€œŠ½Š¾Š²Š¾ŃŃ‚Šøā€ which is the usual word for ā€œnews.ā€ ---

Anyone want to speculate on why Jake traveled to places such as Colombia (twice), Qatar, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala and some others I may be missing? I also noticed that the dates shown on his travel records show he made short visits (less than 1-2 weeks in most locations) with the exception being the last one (Guatemala) where he stayed several months. What sort of job takes you through those countries and results in you having your passport flagged (assuming they are related). Drug trafficking? Is he a govt agent? Someone mentioned the fact that he looked military in the photo and that he had dogtags, which might explain why he was in Qatar. Also Qatar was the only non South American country on that list. ---

[/QUOTE] One other job that might take you to such places for short times is security contractor. But you usually have to have military or police experience to get that kind of job.
