Two violent convicts, two young blonde women. Of course CBS probally doesn’t have the gets for rape. If it only takes 2 hours for a storm to get to Jericho from Denver wouldn’t the fallout have his last night? ---

I caught a nice glimpse eof his notes on the SOS signal. The paper said “Beep beep beep beeep beep beeeeep.” That’s as far as I got before it cut away. ---

i wanna know what the morse code said precisely. one assumes by where he was placing the thumbtacks is where was hit. ---

[/QUOTE] Even though they didn’t show it I still assume DC was nuked. Why would whoever did it go to all the trouble of nuking Denver, Atlanta, Chicago, etc and _not_ DC? Especially considering there wouldn’t be time to evacuate POTUS & co. And what is it like in the big cities (100K+) that weren’t nuked? Or Hawaii? There are military bases there, but if HI wasn’t attacked everything would be “normal” (untill they start running low on imports). ---

At a guess, I’d say the message gave a list of cities that had been hit. What I want to know is, who IS this guy? He ain’t no ex-cop from St Louis…and he wasn’t “just passing through.” He lives there…he had his family with him and they were in a house, not a shelter. I think he’s a CIA type, personally. ---

It’s a good thing this show has no competition. Ugh. It might not be fair, but I’m comparing this to the Deadwood pilot. It didn’t take several episodes to get invested in those characters. They were immediately colorful and interesting and they felt real. And plenty happened in the Deadwood pilot, it wasn’t a meet and greet. This Turtletaub guy has had two hours and he’s wasted it with silly plotlines. I don’t know or care any more about these Jericho folks than I did last week. ---

Okay, I’m bored with it already. You know what would help? Make it funny. At least a little bit. I know, you’re saying “what the heck could be funny about a nuclear holocaust?” Well, I dunno, but if they can incorporate humorous elements into shows like _Law & Order, SVU_, they can do it here. And besides, it’s human (or maybe American) nature to crack wise at incredibly stressful times and to laugh instead of crying. Plus, it’s really really predictable. Like when Blondie was holding a gun on Bad Guy #1, who was holding a gun on Deaf Girl. Meanwhile Bad Guy #2 was holding a gun on Blondie. It was completely obvious that Our Hero was going to show up just in time to shoot Bad Guy #2. I mean, Bad Guy #2 had to be distracted by something, right? I guess that was necessary to move the story along. But wouldn’t it have been refreshing if instead of Our Hero saving the day, Bad Guy #2 was distracted by a bird crapping on his head or something? ---

I actually had some hope for this one. I like apocalyptic fiction, and here was a chance to do an updated _Alas, Babylon_. No such luck. It’s already been dropped from the Tivo list. When does _Battlestar Galactica_ return? ---

Right now it appears as if people are waiting for FEMA trucks to start rolling in. They should start running out of stuff very fast (most supermarkets only stock 3 days worth of most products). And there won’t be electricity or running water anytime soon. Dr mayor’s-DIL is going have to start making some very difficult decisions soon. ---

I _said_ it was unfair. 🙂 I’m ready to accept Jericho for what it is, not for what I want it to be. But I can’t figure out what it is. It has elements of a soap/romance, mystery, teen/family drama, survival, etc. It’s all there, the makings of decent drama, but I think the writers are trying to fit too much in and none of it’s working for me. I find none of it believable or realistic. ---

They’re trying to be Lost. (They’ve even got people withholding information for no real reason 😛 ) They should be a less dire version of “The Day After”. Or a present-day version of “Battlestar Galactica” minus the robots. People making hard choices in a survival situation. This isn’t doing much for me. ---
