Wait a minute. Emily and Jake are in the basement of the ranch. What happened to the two cops that were in the trunk of the sheriff’s car and the deaf girl? Did I miss something? My opinion on “I’m jut a cop from St. Louis…” I think someone’s running an experiment on how people react to a nuclear blast, and he’s documenting the results ---

My take on Hawkings is that he’s a CIA analyst or something. An expert that predicted the war but wasn’t believed. Knowing what was going to happen, he picked up his family and moved to the spot he calculated was most likely to survive. ---

[/QUOTE] Jake had the deaf girl take the Sheriff and deputy to the storm cellar so all five of them are OK (for now) I think I’ll give the show one more week. It seems some of them leave town to search for other survivors which could be interesting (but I’m afraid it might not be). ---

[/QUOTE] He’s been drinking from Jack Bauer’s canteen. Deaf Girl looks like she could be the sister of Marin Hinkle who played Judy on “Once and Again”. I know the young folks like 'splosions in their shows, but is blowing up the entrance to the mine the best way to keep the rain out? Maybe a little plastic and duct tape would have been a safer option. Blowed up real good though. A lot of it is too transparent. Sullen teenagers subplot a case in point. But it’s American television. Can’t stray too far from the playbook or the audience won’t stay around for the hemorrhoid ointment commercials. I’ll give it another week the phhfft!! ---

Why if one of them was severely wounded they would’ve needed to decide whether or not to live him outside to die. ---

Small ockets survive with no contact. W2: But who nuked us? W3: Who cares? If J.J. can get away with it, so can we. It’s sad that Invasion (of the body snatchers) was cancelled. THEY did the same thing a year ago, and while it was annoying at times, it had a sense of wonder, of mystery, with ambigeous characters, that made it interesting a lot of the the times and entertaining most of the times. I’m glad we’re out of the reality tv craze, but I guess we’ll have to put up with a lot of “me-too” productions of proved concepts for this and next year, before it all settles in. I’m giving this show another week. If it doesn’t take off, I’m outta here. ---

Plus the mayor’s _other_ son back (sort of) with his ex-girlfriend, now that he saved her life and all. Gotta get a love triangle in there somehow. ---
