What would a win for a guy who isn’t even in office yet do? And who can’t really affect policy yet? Because it sounds like Jerry’s problems are more serious than they seem, if he wasn’t capable of lasting an extra month! Never heard of him, except that his name roughly translates to “girly man” (sic). ---

He wrote [this book](http://www.amazon.com/Those-Wonderful-Folks-Pearl-Harbor/dp/0671205714) many years ago. He was funny then. I had no idea he had gotten so high in the advertising world. ---

I don’t know the back-story but it probably goes something like this: He bought the place for less than $10 milllion, can now sell it for $25 million and doesn’t want to pay higher capital gains on the appreciation because of the “fiscal cliff”. Right, but it’s not like on January 21, 2013, President Romney would’ve (could’ve) said “Capital gains tax is 0%! Millionaires get heavy tax cuts! Everybody gets laid!” and have all of congress vote it in that day. Wait 4 more years or quit bitching, dude. I’d go to his party. Go, eat the rich foods, and destroy his toilet. ---

I think that in his mind if Romney had been elected Obama would have capitulated to Boehner or, if not, the new Congress, with Romney’s approval would revers the cliff and make all of the tax increases retroactive. ---

LMFAO! The guy was okay with reducing the price from $40M to $25M, so it’s not like the money really matters to him that much. He’s just a douchebag, it seems. ETA: I don’t know how they managed it, but they make him sound smug as he describes how he bought the place for $3M, put $6M into it, and now sold it for $25M. What was he whining about again? Taxes? So… do I have this right. The guy marked his place down nearly 50% so it would sell THIS year in order to avoid a 35% tax NEXT year? (OH, and he will still be paying a 20-something% tax rate this year)? I’m thinking it sounds more like the guy is hard up for money and trying to save face. ---
