I’m not sure how that fits into any religious right narrative. As it stands now, Mrs. Falwell is the one who committed adultery. I’d never even heard of her before, and if she looks bad it doesn’t really harm the Jerry Falwell brand. If Jerry did approve of things, that would remove some of the responsibility from Becki and put it on Jerry. It makes her look better and him look worse; I can’t see why any of his true believers would want to do that. ---
