Of _course_, I have just been informed of my niece’s first birthday party on the same day … in Maryland. My plan for now is to stop in, drop off my promised utensils, and stay for an hour or two before continuing down there, because I’m annoyed that my SIL chose _this_ day to do it. Grr. Grr, I say. ---

Alas, I will not be able to join you fine folks. Family obligations have me otherwise occupied. I really looked forward to meeting some real-life Dopers, and this would have been my first Dopefest, but I guess 'twas not to be. Oh well, I will definitely try to attend the next get-together in the New Jersey area, or even NYC- or Philly-area. Have fun folks. ---
