Yeah… Um, thanks for the link to wikipedia about a term other than the one I used. But, even your first sentence doesn’t hold water. With respect, you are confusing the term “technical obesity” to mean fat. What it in fact refers to is an unhealthy lack of muscle on a frame with an otherwise normal mass of body fat and skeletal mass. i.e. Let’s say a woman carries 39 pounds of fat on her. Let’s say her skeletal system weighs 40 pounds, and let’s then say she has 45 pounds of muscle. She weighs 124 pounds. Her body fat is 32%. She’s not skinny, but she’s not fat at this level. I don’t think the skeletal # is proportional but for the sake of argument, let’s call this a reasonably healthy set of proportions. Now, this perfectly healthy attractive women looks in the mirror and she sees that her legs are thick, and her arms are thick, and her middle is thick compared to the standards of beauty. She diets and loses muscle and fat (as you must when you diet.) Fat doesn’t cost calories to carry, but muscle does, so as she loses weight her daily caloric requirement drops. She reaches a weight that she is happy with and feels she looks good. When she returns to what was her previous maintenance diet she gains weight because she has less muscle. Eventually she diets again and she loses more fat and muscle. The muscle stays off, the fat doesn’t. As she gets out of her teens muscle just doesn’t grow on her the way it used to. She has to exercise to get it. Preferentially her body will preserve fat and consume muscle to accomodate her yo-yo dieting. In her mid-twenties, she now thinks she looks better than ever. She weighs 105 pounds. Her body composition is now the same 39 pounds of fat, 40 pounds skeletal, and 24 pounds of muscle. Her thighs and arms are skinny. Her hips are accentuated, her breasts stick out. She looks great by today’s standards of beauty. Her body fat is now 38%. She’s technically obese. ---

But, since you ask. This is how I think she should handle it. She should smile, give the guy ten seconds of attention, say she is flattered but say she is with friends/engaged/has a boyfriend/coming down with Ebola and simply be decent about it. That’s her duty. After having taken his shot and failed it is the duty of the guy to respect her wishes and then leave her alone. ---
