Jessica Jones - Series 1 Release Thread [Open Spoilers]

I’ve just watched episode 10. There goes my smug feeling of superiority.

A few continuity quibbles:

In the episode where Kilgrave is introduced, his powers don’t work quite the same later. He enters by making the descriptive statement “you will be delighted to let me in”, or something along those lines. Not a clear command. Then, he tells the children to go to the closet. The girl doesn’t respond. Even when he tells her directly, she protests that she needs to go to the bathroom, and he needs to tell her again. And I realize they wanted a “kick the dog” moment, but Kilgrave is later shown as very meticulous about his personal space. Why would he want her to do smelly things in the closet?

The neighbor “recovers” from addiction awfully quickly and completely.

The athlete-girl pays another inmate to beat her up without even trying to tell Jessica or to get an abortion through normal channels?

And of course the whole “we can’t kill him” thing goes on awfully long. At first, it’s plausible, but as the body count builds up, it gets less and less so.

:dubious:
Errrr… She is not. If anything her parent’s death and her powers giving accident are what defines her, not her relationship with Kilgrave. He is a villain who used her, and is the season’s big bad, much like how Lex Luthor is the enemy of the piece for Supes in many stories.

He could write out a confession. Without his mind control powers, he’s in a terrible place: helpless, with many, many people who hate his guts, people with powers in Jessica’s case. The safest place for him would be jail.
