Pauly Shore? :rolleyes: Gilbert Gottfried? :rolleyes: and… Randy of the Redwoods? :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Last year, I think, they had some show starring Janene Garofolo and a couple of people hosting clips – not the entire videos, mind you – but clips of videos they said that MTV will never air again. True, most of them were cheesy, but geez, some of them were my favorites at the time…_sigh_ I **abhor** the way they’ve turned _The Real World_ and _Road Rules_ into media “sensations” (if that’s the right word). It’s like every season has to go way over the top of the previous one. There’s no more innocence about either show. That irks me to no end for some reason! I do miss _Loveline_, though, even if Adam Carolla got on my nerves. Dr. Drew was the only person, IMO, who dispensed any kind of sensibility across the board. I look at it this way, though: MTV reinvents itself for each generation. The present incarnation, though…:smack: :rolleyes: :smack: ---

Actually kiz that show was probably taken from the huge vote they did a few years ago It was called soemthing like " videos you never want to see agaiin" The most intersting thing on it was they had the former vanilla ice on it akd he went off and smashed the supposed master tape of the video and went on a rant about it and they had security escort him out But it was videos they hadnt played for years by the time the show came out … ---

Oh! I remember the Video Jury one. I liked that show. "I must have been the only person who ever watched it though, no one I mentioned it to had ever heard of it, but it still aired for a good year or more before it disappeared. " I watched AMP. I miss it too. I love electronic music! ---

What ever happened to that show where they had a court type of thing over who was to blame for the break up … did that last any length of time ? I think they called it the blame game … ---

MTV does still show videos, but from around 2-6am ☹ The digital cable channel Noggin started airing Daria this summer, though, so that makes me happy anyway. I’ve never seen it on Nickoloden, however. Over 100 channels and I _still_ don’t get M2, which was one of the few channels I watched in college. ---

That was simultaneously one of the funniest and scariest moments of recent history. :eek: I seem to remember that it was Janeane Garofalo, Jon Stewart and…someone else, when Mr. Rob Van Winkle showed up to toast the fact that “Ice Ice Baby” would never be shown again. Of course, Vanilla’s trying to come across as a “bad boy,” because it’s the only image makeover his already-taxed handlers could come up with to combat the patina of suckiness he’s fashioned for himself. Vanilla proceeds to **go completely fucking apeshit,** take the supposed “master,” and stomp it into a million pieces. Then, he starts in on the set itself, throwing around some of the (admittedly) shitty-looking stuff they’ve got lying around the room. For as long as I live, I will NEVER ever forget the looks on Janeane and Jon’s faces. They were of both abject horror and loathing, mixed in with some pity, and more horror. I think Janeane thought she was going to be next. Forget Visa. THAT was fucking PRICELESS. 😛 :wally ---

Denis Leary and Chris Kattan were also there. I liked when Leary made a “Don Johnson” cocktail-he made a drink and put the tape stuff in the blender with it. From Don Johnson’s video. Priceless. ---

Awwwwwwwwwww, it’s a bunch of people who are afraid to admit to themselves that they **aren’t** hip and with it and cool anymore, and have to try and rip something that they think **used** to be cool, but now sucks. Here’s a clue folks: If you are over 19, you are out of MTV’s target demographic, so you can go fuck yourselves for all MTV cares about you anymore. And why do I think that back in the days when you guys did watch MTV on a regular basis, you sat there and screeched and bleated that all of the videos they played “sucked?” Safe bet on that one. You can always change the fucking channel but that seems to be a bit too challenging for some of you. ---

Just a heads up, Comedy Central does standup shows I think Friday and Saturday nights? They get some good acts. It ends I’m pretty sure at 11 on the West Coast. Also Insomniac with Dave Atell (Attel?) is pretty funny. That’s on relatively late. Tenebras ---

If we didn’t care about the music, we wouldn’t be complaining, would we? Yes, I’m an old fart of 42. Yes, I remember MTV’s original VeeJay lineup. Yes, I liked some of the videos, hated others. But there were a lot of videos and an opportunity to be exposed to a lot of music. Not anymore. MTV’s out, I can’t get MTV2 and VH1 doesn’t play new music at all. Radio’s a wasteland that sticks to the ten songs for which the most bribes were paid, and the music companies wonder why sales are finally dropping faster than Britney Spear’s jeans. ---
