There’s a sticky in GQ, a FAQ in the FAQ, threads in ATMB, and y’all still do shit like [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=153491). Knock it off already!
And to the mods: Why do you put up with it? Why don’t you start handing out warnings left and right when board members do what you’ve told them not to time and time again?

In my case, I wanted him to read what I wrote. If he’s the reason [metatus.com](http://metatus.com) stole our content and a bunch of racists showed up to harrass us a while back, I really do want to meet him.

the point of the “DNFTT” is that the ijiots _thrive_ on attention.

ancillary.
as in “gosh folks why would you feed **this troll** ”
So, by posting here, I’m also ‘feeding it’.

Thank you, **chique**. I’m baffled too. Every time a troll pops up the usual suspects just have to chime in with their lame-ass “pie” and “cat food” posts. (Now watch some dickhead respond to _this_ post with a pie or cat food remark. Wouldn’t that be funny and original.)
DNFTT. Report to a Mod. The troll goes away unsatisfied and is less likely to come back. It’s not that hard to understand.

I didn’t post in the other thread, assumed (correctly as it turns out) that it’d already been reported and would be closed post haste.
but **this thread** is continuing to feed the damn thing.
(and yes, I’ve now posted twice in this one, in my apparently unsuccessful attempt to point out that additional feedings are not necessary or helpful)

It only takes a tiny fraction of the people reading a post to respond in order to FEED THE TROLLS. That tiny infintesimal fraction of people who will feed the trolls despite all warnings and pleadings to the contrary will ALWAYS exist, which allows trolls to continue to operate (and spammers too for that matter). I call it the Dumbass Ratio.
What we need is more moderators. All the "DNFTT"s in the world isn’t going to solve a damned thing and you know it.

Of course, the “troll” will just continue to open new threads. And often “troll” is in the eye of the beholder. It is not always clear who is a troll, and who is just a jackass.
And this thread has been done before. There was a bigger discussion at the time. A search should pop it up if you are interested.

Continue? Long after the thread was closed? Uh, I made one comment less than half an hour after the last thread was closed.
This thread, as **chique** said, is about the behavior in general of which that thread was the latest example. Maybe some people who read this won’t do it again in the future.
A hypocrite _and_ a moron, huh. I was kind of hoping for loser too so I could make a trifecta. I’ll try harder next time.

The way I see it, there will always be trolls. Sometimes they will be new trolls, sometimes they will be returning trolls. But the’ll always be there, regardless of how we all behave. So why not feed them? Fatten 'em up so they’ll be a nice large target when a mod can finally come around and shut 'em down.
(I realize that the mods disagree with me on this, and out of respect for their wishes and fear of their Modlike powers, I take care to not feed the especially obvious trolls.)

That’s the thing - I’m **not** afraid of their Modlike powers because, despite repeated DNFTT warnings they don’t put any teeth behind them. If board policy is supposed to be DNFTT then the mods should back it up, but they don’t. If board policy is supposed to be ‘play with the trolls until someone finally let’s us know we’re supposed to lock a thread’ then so be it - but take down that sticky in GQ.
