I’ve not heard of these guys before, but the first song they plasyed is very familiar. Is it in a TV commercial? I’m guessing a Target ad maybe, something. Any ideas? ---

The song Jet played first was “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”, which sounds very similar (especially at the beginning) to Iggy Pop’s “Lust For Life”. I know Lust was used in some sort of ad recently. ---

They’re in the iPod ad where silhouettes of people are dancing and the backgrounds are very colorful. ---

The song is also part of the soundtrack for EA Sports _Madden Football_. ---

Aha, I was wondering what commercial I’d heard that song in. Now, I’d never heard of Jet before last night, and I didn’t think they were _bad_, per se, but I did think they were unbelievably bland. ---

Another Aussie band makes it big! 🙂 I rather liked the one song I heard. Now I’m a bit sick of it as it’s been played on the radio umpity billion times. ---

Thanks for the answer, **AwSnappity**. I can _almost_ picture the commercial, all I can remember are just fleeting shadows, and now I’m sure I’ll never see it again. 😉 I’d agree that “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” is a catchy song, if a bit derivative, but if I heard it “umpity billion times”, I’d get sick of it too. I don’t even remember the second song they played, other than it was slower. And it saddens to me, **Silentgoldfish** to find out that Aussie radio is as shitty as US radio. ---

I don’t like them. That said, I still thought they sounded a lot better (more “together”, I guess) than most bands that play on SNL.
