It’s scabbed over and I cleaned it up again this morning. The dog was very sorry for what he did and spent the rest of the night coming up to me with sad eyes to make sure we were cool. We were. I gave him many skritches. ---

Cut the front lawn today… in pain. The heat was brutal (to me). One of the newer neighbors was intentionally turning his back to me as part of The New York Shuffle (shun). Whatever. He has two huge dogs. That he has to scoop up huge mounds of doo seems appropriate. That said a further neighbor, who we knew from when our kids were in grade school together, was out watering his plants. He was looking at me, but he didn’t wave. I was going to wave until I noticed his red MAGA hat. Fine, buddy. Glad to know now that you’re an asshole. I ---

That’s how you pay for fun and entertainment. * * * We’re gonna have amateur fireworks all weekend, fine. They were going nonstop earlier, but tapered off around 1 am ish. (I think they’re supposed to stop at midnight according to Zeh Law, but .. { _scoffs_ } Two friggin thirty after relative quiet for a while, I’m getting my pillows arranged just so and preparing to drift off to peaceful slumber, when outta nowhere an ~~Earth-shattering~~ window rattling **BOOM** and well, I’m wide awake now. 👿 For no good reason. Not part of a big display, just a random explosion like a truck drove into a wall in a Michael Bay movie. I hope someone lost a finger. 😡 ---

I thought Italian brain rot was the worst YouTube had to offer. Now **Wee Weasel** is watching the most low-effort, annoying voice overs for the brilliant [Animation vs Math](https://youtu.be/B1J6Ou4q8vE?si=AXEwtQSxW1pdFRXh) and associated videos. It’s just a guy describing what happens in a dopey voice. Not describing the math or anything, in fact he says asinine things like, “Why are there letters here?” the moment algebra is introduced. “Oh, I’m running away!” Shoot me now. (Check out the link. It’s awesome. What I would love to see is reaction videos from actual math nerds.) ---

You know how many USB-A to wall outlet converter boxes I have? So now cables are coming that are USB-C on both ends so I need to but _more_ of those little converter boxes, this time USB-C to wall outlet ---

IMHO, since each thread is already labeled with the month, and there’s unlikely to be confusion between, say, the current July rants thread and last year’s July thread, I think the “[old]” label is probably unnecessary. But the “monthly-mini-rant” tag is awesome, thank you!
