Pat Boone is with the Church of Christ, not the Catholic Church. He did belong, for a short time, to a Pentacostal church. But his views on Jewish… Wha…? Oh. Sorry
Apologies for the above post. I got this thread crossed with the Pit one, and thought we were all just cutting up about different Pats. Disregard, please.
Excuse me, but Pat the Bunny is a sun worshiper, what with his adherence to Frith and all. I don’t know if his allegiance to the prophet El-ahrairah enters into his comments or not, but it’s abundantly clear that… that… what? Oh. Nevermind.
Now you want to talk about real power…you have 84% of the Senate are who are male coming from 50% of the population. Now THAT’S power!
Huh. I was under the impression that Jeffords and Sanders were both atheists. I guess that just makes one atheist Congressman ever (a senator from Texas in the late 19th century), though I can’t find a cite at the moment.
Not residing in the US, and thus following American politics as closely as I probably should be, I don’t know about these particular gentlemen, but it is quite possible to be Jewish and Atheist at the same time. Judaism is not only a religion, it is also both a culture and an ethnicity. I should know – I am one (Jewish Atheist, that is)
For God’s sake, man, they’re JOOS! Wake up and smell the protocols!
Yeah. How naive of me.
Good God, they’ve taken over the entirity of the Independent Party!
Though Bernie Sanders and Liebermann probably represent about as great a seperation in foreign policy views as exists in the current Senate, regardless of their religious backgrounds. Apparently the Elders of Zion need to work on co-ordinating their minions a little better.
I am amazed that so many Jews are in either house of Congress. When I was growing up, having *one would have been noteworthy.
The strangest, worst, and saddest part of the Protocols is that the reality was and is so obviously different.
Me, I wonder if anyone can show that these members act in concert at all.
That’s nothing. With Wyomingites you’ve got 2% of the Senate coming from 0.16% of the population!
I was going to say that Mormons have an even more impressive representation (5 in the Senate) then I checked and saw that there are more Mormons than Jews in the US. When did that happen?
But still, 2% of the population make up 10% of the Senate.
Leave Pat Benatar out of this!
The joke is older than that, it goes back to the days of the Talmud: Two Jews, three opinions.
The Elders have been constrained for over 40 years by the issue that 99% or so of the world’s Jews are not bound by the Elders’ decisions.
Heck, 50% of the population makes up 84% of the Senate.
How is 5 Senators 10% of the Senate?
Read an observation by one Jewish guy that if the Muslims wanted to get rid of Israel, they should just stop picking fights with it, the assumption being that the country would self-disintegrate without some common threat to get everyone to agree on something, even if it’s just “Yaknow, I don’t like that those guys want to get rid of us.”
And here I was wondering when the US population was reduced to 5,000 people :smack:
My god, what if all the male senators decided to band together and vote as a bloc? They’d be unstoppable!
Variant, from Michener’s The Source: Two Jews were shipwrecked on a desert island. The first thing they did, they built three temples. “You go to yours, I’ll go to mine, and we’ll both boycott that sonofabitch on the hill.”
