This is the kind of thing I always warned myself about when I considered getting tattoos of the bands I followed (like literally followed around the country). Actually I always told myself “What if it turns out they are Nazis?” (yes, seriously) but “what if the drummer turns out to be a rapist?” woulda been good too.

The tweet I saw was from @lazin\_ryder, of the CBC (who was retweeting @IonnaCBC)
They probably know. Although one can legitimately wonder about how much the CBC knows about what goes on at the CBC

Apparently, he’s paying the CBC’s legal fees as part of the deal.

His collective agreement clearly dismissed the ability to sue, the lawsuit never had any hope. But until it was formerly dismissed the CBC was unable to speak about it, including any further information they had from his presentation, that led to the firing. That meant he controlled what came out, for a time.
I don’t think anyone’s surprised.

Ghomeshi seems to have vanished. There were rumours he was spotted in LA, then Muskoka. I don’t know where he is now.
Someone on Facebook pointed out that his Facebook page is now gone. I just checked Twitter, and his once very active Twitter account has also disappeared completely.
So yeah, he seems to be keeping a low profile.

Update: Found [this article](http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/jian-ghomeshi-gets-bail-faces-sex-assault-choking-charges-1.2850661) saying Ghomeshi is getting bail. He must stay in Canada and live with his mother.
And a tweet from CBC news alerts: #JianGhomeshi’s mom in court to act as surety. Role means guaranteeing ex-#CBC host’s behaviour while on bail, abiding by court conditions.

I wonder why he isn’t allowed to stay in one of his own homes.
My own mother is long dead, but were she not I think that if I were given a choice between jail and living with her while awaiting trial for a sex scandal I’d just go ahead and plead guilty.

In Canada, getting out on bail almost always requires a surety – someone who will guarantee that the accused follows the interim judicial release (bail) terms. A good way of improving the odds of this commitment being met or of violations being reported is to have the accused reside with the surety, so although residing with the surety is not always required, it is not unusual.
One hopes that he does not choke his mother.

Far bigger. Sexual assault, up to 10 years per charge. Overcome resistance, up to life per charge.
Aside from on its face being an appropriate charge for choking during a sexual assault, it makes for one hell of an inducement to plead out to summary offences before the Crown elects to proceed by indictable offences, which would then trigger the possibility of life penalties.
