I fully expect that at some point the FDA will test for safe only, and leave effective up to the free market. Everyone needs to know that the line between alternative woo and good medicine isn’t a line, it a continuum. People with medical degrees and white coats and chemicals with long names that do scientific sounding stuff like “blocking zinc channels” can be just as bad as the wild-haired guys hawking mushrooms and shark cartilage as a cancer cure. ---
