I really like the ring of that **purple** , Countess Palmyra… Now, what exactly about the curtains would you like to discuss? I haven’t really decided on anything yet, but I _know_ that those heavy dusty drapes have got to go: they block out _all_ the light. As for you, Paddy, just what kind of punishment do you think you deserve? I think the corset under this frumpy gown must be cutting off my oxygen supply, so it can’t be anything too vigorous [unless it can wait till bedtime… ;)]. Who’s M’Lady and Lady-in-Waiting? ---

**Palmyra** , my dear, **PurrpleBear** is the Lady of the Manor (I don’t know what the feminine of Marquis is). She’ll become Queen when I become King of the World. (I’m looking at August of next year on that.) **ScottiCher** is her Lady-in-Waiting. Of course, that may swap back and forth between now then. It’ll probably come down to whichever is wearing the nicest dress when the title of Queen becomes available. Anyway, you really should talk to them before thinking about changes here. Duke::Duchess Count::Countess Marquis::Marquise While the male term, Marquis, does indeed have a silent “s” [mar-key], the female term Marquise has a pronouced “s” [mar-keese, said like an “s”, not a “z”]. ---

Well, in the books I read, it’s Marquis/Marchioness Also in those it’s Earl/Countess with earl being the English version of Count. Of course, these are romances, so take it with a grain of salt. ---

Well, I have no problems with any of this, none at all. I figure that no matter WHAT title I have, I still get to be called “Lady Scotti.” Maybe NOW people will quit thinking I am a BOYScotti.
