Jimmy Buffet does indeed suck, but it’s not like other so-called “cult” bands like Phish ever wrote a decent song either. (If Jerry Garcia hadn’t died, Phish would still be playing in college gymnasiums for beer money … now they get trailed by everyone from the kids with their parents’ credit cards, to the filth-covered bead-vending wasteoids that used to infest the Dead tours.) At least Buffet got his fans the old-fashioned way: by coming up with a different gimmick, and running it into the ground eight ways from Sunday. I guess the same could be said for Weird Al … except Weird Al _really, really_ sucks, more than Phish and Buffet put together! * * * I’m a loner, Dottie … a rebel. ---

And do we really need two threads about how bad Buffet is? I mean I don’t like him either, but DAMN! Where’s this sudden rash of antiBuffetism coming from? * * * Windows 95: 32-bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company that can’t stand for 1 bit of competition. ---
