[Per this story](http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/abc/default.asp) I’m still wondering that made them think Kimmel could carry a show against Leno & Letterman. He’s had a few amusing shoes but he really does come off as the least professional of the three by a wide margin. ---

Let’s hope they use a real axe!! OK, maybe that’s a bit harsh but I really would enjoy him disappearing from the face of the earth. Forever. ---

I was surprised Kimmel didn’t get fired when newspapers started reporting on how much drinking went on in the show’s green room. I liked him on The Man Show - it sucked after he left - but it’s not like he can do a whole bunch of different types of comedy. ---

I opened this thread because I was wondering what Kimmel was in danger of being axed from. I think it says a lot about his success as a talk show host that this thread was the first I heard that he was competing against Leno and Letterman. ---

The only bit he ever does that’s truly funny is “This Week in Unnecessary Censorship.” Too bad a better show didn’t think of it first. ---

I confess that I am surprised that it lasted this long. I don’t hate him, but he is not good. I didn’t like the man show. I did kinda like him on Fox NFL pregame, but I didn’t think he was strong enough to pull of his own show. ---

I don’t watch much tv but until this thread I thought he was doing pretty good? It would be pretty damn cool to bring back The Man Show, IMO. It’s not like Adam is busy saving the world on FreeFM. ---

Aww, I enjoy Kimmel’s show. Not only do I find it funny, but I’m consistently amazed at the talent of his production staff. They doctor a lot of TV clips and movie trailers, and the production value is always top-notch (on a budget that I imagine is far less than, say, Leno). ---

Everyone I know (including me) either thought he was great or had no opinion of him before the radio show. Now we all have to clean the blood out of our ears each time we accidentally scan past him for more than a second or two. It’s not his fault - the whole concept of FreeFm sucks. ---

Well, I hope Adam stays on the radio. I started listening after Howard left, and I like his show better than Howard’s. It’s a lot smarter. Now, if they’d get rid of the horror that is Danny Bonadouchebag and let Jimmy join him, that would be great radio! ---

Even at the height of the hype with Leno vs Letterman Nightline kicked both their butts in the ratings. ABC wants to do an hour long Nightline. Sounds like good counter programming to me. ---

I found his show to be a dumbed-down and sanitized version of Howard’s. Don’t get me wrong - I _like_ Adam Corolla the person; I _hate_ Adam Corolla the show. ---

[/QUOTE] No, I was joking…Of course I meant it. I think Adam’s at his finest on his show; it’s like he’s been freed of the dirty underwear he was stuck wearing on network television. His rants are especially hilarious; I’m impressed anyone can improv for that length of time without any pauses at all.
