Perfectly valid. However I don’t know if they cost Harris the election. From what I could tell, a lot of the people who voted Biden in 2020 and sat out 2024 lived in safe blue states, not swing states.
Its frustrating watching Gen Z and latinos find out in real time that Trump doesn’t support them. Latinos and Gen Z swung heavily for Trump, and now their approval for him has dropped dramatically in the last 8 months. But it was an open book test where everyone was shouting the correct answers at them, and they still flunked.
I saw a FB post which I have no idea is true or not which states that Kimmel spent 90% of the monologue on the Epstein files. So perhaps that was the bigger reason for the censorship happening when it did, with Kirk being the implausible stated reason.
Another reason for the public to keep loudly clamoring for the Epstein files.
Just popped in to read that post where HoneyBadger came back after doing proper reseach and corrects the misinformation he was spreading. Did I miss it?
Conversations between Disney and Mr. Kimmel to return his show to the air formally began on Thursday, according to two people briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. Mr. Iger, Ms. Walden and Rob Mills, the ABC executive who directly oversees the show, met with Mr. Kimmel at the office of his lawyer, Andy Galker, in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles. Mr. Kimmel’s manager, James Dixon, participated in the meeting via a video call.
The session ended without Mr. Kimmel’s agreeing to changes in the monologue he had planned to deliver on Wednesday, which had sought to clarify his earlier commentary but also punched back against figures on the right who he believed had misrepresented those comments.
Doesn’t really sound like it from the NYT article. He had planned to address the hubbub in the following night’s show, but they suspended the show instead. There was a lot of blowback from all of it, but the official press release on his return couched things in reasonableness. The best news is that Trump has to stop gloating about it, which will just really piss him off.
He stood up for racism because racism is what he believed in, and there are absolute troves of tweets, blogs, and podcast clips that have him spewing nakedly racist rhetoric. That’s before we ever get to talking about his encouragement of political violence, which you pretend to oppose, but do not.
You support a violent racist because you like violence and racism.
