That’s nothing - I routinely mock and prank the elderly. They’re even less likely to suffer long term harm from it (since they don’t have a long-term), and some of them don’t even remember it the next day, so there’s clearly no harm done. My favorites are “Your Social Security has been cut off” and “Grandma? Don’t you remember me, grandma?” ---

I generally think “anything goes” in the humor department, but I found that video more excruciating than funny. Ok, a few of the kid’s reactions were amusing, but ones where they are actually bawling their eyes out were painful to watch. Now, I’ve teased my nieces and nephews on occasion a little, but doing it to the point where a kid bursts into tears is going too far. ---

How many of you had your Pop and/or uncle or older brother take you on a snipe hunt when you were a kid? How are these brief Halloween pranks any meaner than that? These kids weren’t half-way up a tree when an armed game warden came around asking WTF they were doing ---

I don’t have a problem with kidding older kids, or a little mild teasing of tykes. But deliberately making very small children cry for one’s amusement is a bit different. ---

I’m sure that this won’t scar the kids for life, and they’re so young they won’t even remember it when they’re bigger. But making small children cry for one’s personal amusement strikes me as being . . . childish. It would be funny, say, if the dog had eaten their candy and this was their reaction. Or if they had to get a shot at the doctor’s. It’s the aspect of the parents deliberately making their kids feel bad, even for a short time, in order to give other people a few yuks that makes me :dubious: ---

The thing is, this prank is playing on the kids’ greed basically. Comparisons to telling them grandma or the dog died are frankly idiotic. ---

I Like Kimmel, but this bit isn’t all that great. It wasn’t very nice really kind of mean. And the humor really didn’t work for me. Not really worth it. I love teasing kids, but if it get to tears, that’s really not that funny. That said, this isn’t bullying. Nor is it the same thing as the kid that thought he was getting an Xbox. He didn’t, presumably the Kimmel kids did get their candy, that’s a huge difference. ---
