Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons

I love Elivis Costello and think he’s an amazing songwriter but oddly enough one of my favorite Elivis Costello songs is one that he didn’t write at all, it’s a cover. (actually this isn’t too crazy, he’s not shy about doing covers and he always picks amazing songs and does great versions of them)

Anyway, the song I’m talking about is “So Young” which was on the compilation Out of Our Idiot then later appeared as a bonus track on the re-issue of Get Happy.

I did a little Googling of the songwriters’ names to try to find the original. I expected to find that it was a 60’s Motown song as Get Happy is very Motown influenced.

I was surprised to find that it was a 70’s song from an Australian band.

So, who can tell me all about Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons?

I started this Thread when the Australians were going to bed.

I’ll bump it now that they’re awake.

(or will they boycott me because I made fun of Vegemite in the Vegemite Thread? )

I meant to answer this about a week ago. The attached link gives a pretty good rundown on their history.
