Joan Lee, the wife of Marvel Comics’ legendary publisher Stan Lee, passed away at the age of 93, it has been announced. Well the guy is 94, how many years did he really have left? All the same my sympathy goes out to him. ---

Wow. They were married before the Korean War took place. During their marriage ALL of the success of Marvel came about and it was a pretty steady upward trajectory. RIP Mrs. Lee. Rest easy, Mr. Lee. ---

Marriage does not end well: Divorce or death. From photos it appears Stan cherished every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every one of the 69 years. And it also seems that she was a real looker right up to the end. Burying his wife has to be an indescribable sorrow. My deepest condolences to him. ---

I hope that Stan has a bunch of stock cameo scenes pre-recorded that they can drop into films as needed. ---

Some people don’t live 69 years, much less be married that long. My parents had 62, though, when my dad died. I’m sorry for the family, I hope they deal with it well.
