loving will was a typo. It’s meant to be living will. Something every person should have. Age doesn’t matter. A car wreck could put a 20 year old in a coma and on a breathing machine for decades unless there’s a living will to prevent it. I’ve generally liked Joan Rivers’ comedy. I grew to intensely dislike her on Celebrity Apprentice. She was way to ruthless for my tastes. Especially since everyone was there to make money for their charities. But, she is an excellent comedian with amazing longevity in a tough business. She even survived being shunned by Johnny Carson. AFAIK they were still not on speaking terms when he died. ---

She was also one of the pioneer woman stand-up comedians (as opposed to a theatrical/tv comedian), along with Phyllis Diller. Those two blazed the trail for the women who came after. ---

Was privileged to see Ms Rivers in concert last month. She is an amazing comedian and darn, she was all over the stage, and was utterly hysterical. If she recovers (and I hope she does), she will certainly address this in her shtick somehow. Irreverence is her forte ---

My daughter’s text to me: Was she having plastic surgery? Me: If she was and she passes, at least she died doing something she loved. Sure hope she wasn’t without oxygen for too long. ---

Am I wrong about that? She’s a public figure. That makes her fair game. Although as others said, it’s probably a joke she would have appreciated. I’m sure jokes about Lauren Bacall or Robin Williams would be universally less appreciated. It’s a judgment call. You have to consider your target audience. ---
