The best job interviewing advice I got was, “Don’t say anything stupid,” because I sometimes say stupid stuff. Yeah, I know it’s a shock, but look at how much stupid stuff I say here, where I can edit or even delete it.
#5: Do I like them better than the other person?
Sometimes you can do everything right, and someone else is just more qualified/a better match than you. There’s no shame in that, and it certainly doesn’t mean you didn’t do a good job. It’s just how things are.
