If she had said that all that she wanted to do was vent, then you would have a point. She specifically asked for suggestions. Too bad if you don’t like them. **Sue Duhnym** ’s advice was totally reasonable and not phrased in a mean or condescending way. It was, in my opinion, the correct advice as well. ---

By **PapSett** ’s description, she is a model employee being railroaded by her mustache-twirling superiors who are too stupid or short-sighted to recognize that they have a diamond in the rough. And not for the first time; she’s had a series of jobs that ended badly, and not a one was her fault. That could well be the absolute truth, and if so she deserves unbridled sympathy (and a rabbit’s foot). I’ve noticed, though, lo these many years on this board, that an awful lot of posters find themselves the victims of a remarkable string of coincidental misfortunes. Sometimes more information slowly trickles out, and we read between the lines, and eventually a somewhat different picture emerges than the one initially painted by the OP in flattering pastels. I do sympathize with her situation, but let’s not start building a bonfire because someone dared interrupt the hug-fest with another point of view. ---

Not once. If you ever hear the way I talk to myself (in the privacy of my own home, not just randomly walking around mumbling to myself, before THAT is misspoke, too) you would realize how ridiculous that thought is. BUT… the 2 jobs I was fired from I gave the absolute facts. Could YOU drive 124 extra miles on a courior route in the allowed hour? COULD YOU? As for trying to get the union in at the sweatshop-I don’t regret it, not one little bit. That place was hell on earth, still is from what I understand, and at least I made a stand, an effort to change things. This job… no, I’m not perfect. I make mistakes. EVERYONE makes mistakes. But in my humble opinion my mistakes are not serious enough to live in fear for my job. God, how I wish it was so easy to just say, ‘hey, I don’t think I want to have arthritis any more, I think I’ll stop today.’ That would open up a helluvalot more job opportunities for me. If you figure out how to do that, lemme know, will ya? ---
