NPR reported yesterday that the Chicago Archdiocese has hired a full time exorcist. No demons have been cast out in the windy city yet but he is said to have exorcised at least 9 demons in Rome. ---

Actually, if urban legend holds true (holy oxymoron, Batman!), each archdiocese in the Catholic Church has an exorcist. This priest’s position is not mentioned and kept secret. Someone please confirm/refute this. Its what I’ve always heard, but since its “secret”, there’s really no way of knowing, eh? But with the RCC, I would not be suprised. Lots of secrets… ---

Math doesn’t seem right on this. One exorcist for each archdiocese? Isn’t that a couple hundred exorcists for the US? Maybe a few thousand in the world? That seems like an awful lot of exorcists running around. If there were that many, they would have their own magazine by now. ---
