I guess going from “our most controversial candidate is an accused pedophile who got banned from the mall” to “our most controversial candidate is a racist sheriff who ran a concentration camp” is an improvement… right? ---

He’s mostly coherent but he doesn’t at all stray from his talking points of “it was a misdemeanor; same as a barking dog” and “I’m not gonna get into the law/politics of it”. It seemed to be dawning on him that he had admitted he was guilty and so things like “appeals” weren’t going to be a thing anymore. At the end, regarding Trump’s “shithole” comment, his talking points are both “I don’t know what was said” and “whatever he said, I support the president” which the interviewer reiterated to be clear that Arpaio was saying that NO MATTER what the president said, he supported the president, which Arpaio confirms. The interview ends. ---
