I have only this to contribute to this thread: Am I the only one that can’t stop thinking of that Southpark where Cartman finds hippie-Pagan-Goddess religion and everyone starts shoving tampons up their ass except for Kyle whose sacred cycle has yet to begin? And it’s all fun and games until Kenny dies of TSS? ---

Nothing from the guest of honour? :dubious: I admit to being mildly puzzled by the recent revelation that it was being repeatedly raped at age 13 that turned **Johanna** off men - when I’d have assumed that a thirteen-year-old bio-male would not be into men in the first place, by default, though scope exists for the default option not to be the correct one - but then, what do I know? I think the worst I’d have accused her of was the zeal of the recently converted and maybe a touch of the only-tool-is-a-hammer mindset. It’s more tunable-out than some other annoyances. ---

Nyeh, it takes all kinds. And if Johanna is big on gender issues that’s fine by me. Frankly, it’s a welcome break from the conservative/liberal co-dependency I see too much of. As for having a (forgive me) ‘hot-button’ issue… Don’t most of us? No one beats me up for pouncing on media threads. Or Poly for religion threads. Or Dave for insurance threads. We’ve all got our thing. Diversity is part of the joy of any place you are. At least it is for me. I currently live in a place as non-diverse as it is possible to be. So when I see the local skate rats have organized a lobbying group to represent their desire for a park I toss money their way. Um, and they were listening to Rush during the Labor Day parade. ---

I like **Johanna** , sometimes I don’t agree with her posts, or don’t get where she’s coming from, or whatever, but I could say that about 90% of other Dopers. If Johanna needs to get stuff off her chest and out in the open before she can move on to a point where she is comfortable enough with her identity not to relate everything back to it, well that’s fine. I probably piss people off by bringing my wedding and marriage into every thread, but that’s because to me it is the single biggest and most exciting event in my life and I want to share that. I’ll get over it eventually, I imagine **Johanna** will too. The scroll button on my mouse is there for those times when I can’t be bothered to read what someone says. Just use it and allow people to write whatever they want (within the board rules). Really, they might need to write it, you don’t have to read it. ---
