Not to beat a dead parrot but, “Sarah Palin’s not pining, she’s passed on. This candidate is no more. She has ceased to be. She’s expired and gone to meet her maker. This is a late Vice President. She’s a stiff. Bereft of life, she rests in peace. If you hadn’t nailed her to the perch, she would be pushing up the daisies. She’s rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. And yet Americans seem to open their mouths about the politicians of other countries all the fucking time. Go ask Hugo Chavez, or for that matter damned near any world leader. It matters because, like it or not (and a lot of us often don’t), America influences the world at large. It matters because the rest of the world gets scared by some of the idiots you elect. It matters because a lot of us give a damn about the people of America and would prefer them to be happy and successful. ---
