A day without duffer talking out his ass is like a day…
Waitaminit.
duffer talks out his ass everyday.
Never mind.

Whatever you say, duffer, but that title sure sounds like it was conceived under a bridge.
[asshole] Tragically, not soon enough to avert the assault on intelligence and reason that is duffer.[/asshole]
Honestly. Shut. The. Fuck. Up! I’ve yet to read a single fucking thing from you that wasn’t a reeking gob of shit, and I read a lot. Just stop posting. The fight against ignorance thanks you in advance. Dumbass.
I don’t think you’ll find it, since a university is not going to do stem cell research if it means a loss of Federal dollars.
God, I love the SDMB. Y’know why? Because when somebody like Duffer comes along, I don’t feel like a voice in the wilderness when I argue against him. For all its faults, this board has a lot of intelligent, reasonable people.
I felt compelled to say this because I just gave up on this very same argument on a different board. It’s a board specializing in medievalist hobbies (SCA, etc.), but there’s also a section for off-topic posts and political argument. On that board… well, Duffer would be the mainstream. No, better than the mainstream, because he’s not functionally illiterate. Imagine a board where Brutus and that guy who named himself after the last month of the year represent 90% of the membership. A board on which half the posts are barely recognizable as written English. Oh, yeah. From now on, if I frequent that board, I’ll stick to the sections dealing with making armour and hittin’ guys with sticks.
Fellow Dopers, I say unto you, be grateful. Fuckin’-A.
Oh, and Duffer – why do you think that doing research with new embryos instead of the existing lines would be analogous to trying to build a jet engine instead of a Wright Flyer? I’m just not getting that. In vitro fertilization is pretty routine these days.
Wow, you got me on that one. I weep for your parents.
I’m going to give duffer a tiny bit of a break here, simply because he isn’t the only complete dullard I have heard try to spin Edwards’ statement this way today. The stumblefucks on the Bob and Tom Show (or was that the Neil and Bob show), a syndicated morning radio laff riot, attempted to do the same. So he didn’t necessarily think this gem up on his own.
All the same, though, they both deserve a big hearty fuck you!
weirddave, I appreciate your position, but I just have to point out that aborted fetuses are entirely 100% unrelated to the issue of stem cell research. Otherwise, I gratefully applaud your post.
Yeah yeah… Save your tears. How about the other one? Would you STFU for the greater good?
Why? Every time this asshole opens up a thread identical in intent, skills, and falsehoods-though the subject changes from time to time-some asshole chimes in telling us how he thinks duffer needs a fucking break. Duffer does not need a break. Duffer needs a clue. Duffer needs to research shit before his right-clinging vomitous spews all over the board. Duffer needs to bitch about facts, not spin. Duffer needs to go complete his fucking harvest and unplug from the net for a while.
Duffer, I still don’t hate you, as you intoned in your last trainwreck of a fucking thread. I just don’t understand how you take a spun falsehood and turn it into a thread and get it thrown back at you for lack of a factual basis. Your threads are filled with right-leaning partisan spin and “Rushisms”, complicit with a lack of understanding, a lack of a grasp of fact, and willfull ignorance.
Just because the party talking heads say it, doesn’t make it so. I implore you to think about your threads, and their content and looks for facts surrounding those subjects at places other than a Sinclair media production, or right-leaning nutjob conspiracy theory blogger.
God sakes man!
Sam
Well, I did say it was a tiny break, only for having not thought it up himself. Take it as you will.
Why, thank you :). The thing is, I know that. The reason I brought it up is because it’s an implied or at least infered issue with the Ridiculous Right. For them, somehow, stem cell reaserch is the top of a “slippery slope” that leads to the government forcing abortions on ever 5th pregnant shopper at Wal Mart in the name of liberaliam today, tomorrow and forever! The President himself refered to “ending lives” for reaserch purposes when discussing the subject in one of the debates. It’s a strawman. a red herring, whatever one wants to call it, and I was preemptively shoooting it down.
